Lagenda Properties to build another affordable homes in Perak with Majuperak

KUALA LUMPUR: Lagenda Properties Bhd's (LPB) wholly owned subsidiary Taraf Nusantara Sdn Bhd (TNSB) inked a joint development and shareholders agreement with Tenaga Danawa Sdn Bhd (TDSB), a subsidiary of MajuPerak Holdings Bhd (Majuperak), to embark on an affordable housing development project in Tapah, Perak.

Located in Mukim Batang Padang the project, which will be on 4 parcels of land measuring approximately 229.73 acres, will see 1,374 single-storey terrace houses and 264 double-storey shop houses being developed together with an office building.

TDSB will construct the office building and procure the state government's approval to relocate its government agencies' offices to the office building within the land.

The land, which is currently vacant, is also strategically located within developed areas such as Bandar Baru Tapah and Universiti Teknologi Mara's Seri Iskandar campus.

"With the relocation of the government agencies' offices, we strongly believe that it will further enhance the potential and demand for both our development in the Land and UEM Tapah land.

"These development projects strongly reflect the existing demand for affordable housing among consumers despite these challenging times," LPB managing director Doh Jee Ming said in a statement today.

Just a month ago, LPB, formerly known as D.B.E. Gurney Resources Bhd, acquired a 623-acre land in Tapah from UEM Sunrise Bhd for the development of affordable housing which is located just next to the land.

Together, LPB shall have a combined total development area of 853 acres.

"The slated project is also aligned with our mission to continue providing affordable homes to Malaysians out there.

"We look forward to work with MajuPerak and hope to be involved in more affordable housing projects in near future," Doh said.
