KUALA LUMPUR: Parlo Bhd has inked a three-year exclusive deal with Myanmar's Diamond Palace Group of Companies Ltd and Agensi Pekerjaan Seaview Hectare Sdn Bhd to provide employment agency-related services to employers.
Diamond Palace is a Myanmar-owned entity which in 2015 awarded HeiTech Padu Bhd a RM39 million five-year contract to supply, deliver, install, configure, test, commission and maintain Myanmar Foreign Ministry's Passport Issuance System (PIS) and Visa Issuance System (VIS).
Parlo said through the collaboration, it would provide employment agency-related services for workers from the source country to the destination country to facilitate the supply of workers to employers.
Some employment agency services comprise travel, logistic and dormitory arrangements, as well as arrangement for medical examinations for migrant workers.
Post Covid-19 when borders reopen, there would be a large pent up demand for foreign migrant workers, the company said, adding that existing workers would need to return and new workers leave.
Parlo executive director and chief executive officer Dani Yap Tsok Lim, in a statement today, said the collaboration will provide the company with a new revenue source as we face a stalemate in the tourism industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yap expects bright future with the programme if Parlo was able to secure the mandate and roll out the E-ID Total Solutions which will incorporate other digital services such as general payment gateway and e-visa.
"This will not only open up many income opportunities for us but also converge the migrant worker services into one system," he added.
Diamond Palace chairman Datuk Thein Than said there was a 80,000 addresseable market in the near term, subject to the lifting of travel ban.
