KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 27 workers at Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings Bhd's warehouse in Johor has been tested positive for Covid-19.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the company said this follows the Covid-19 tests for 267 in-house staff and subcontracted workers from November 23 to November 26, 2020, comprising all truck drivers and operations staff of the warehouse.
The company said staff who were affected are currently receiving medical attention at a government hospital.
Since then, the company has halted operations of the warehouse and supporting vehicles and conducted thorough disinfection of premises and vehicles.
Shipments that are affected by the warehouse will be supported by other locations in the interim.
Further, the company has imposed quarantine to all truck drivers and operations staff for the warehouse that are currently awaiting results.
As part of additional precautionary measures, Tiong Nam is expanding Covid-19 tests to cover all 556 truck drivers servicing its operations.
"Tiong Nam is cooperating and working closely with the Ministry of Health to safeguard the health of all workers and contain the spread of Covid-19.
"To this end, Tiong Nam's operations adhere to strict Covid-19 preventive measures, including temperature checks, physical distancing, face mask usage and regular disinfection of facilities," it said.
The company said it has activated business continuity plan measures to ensure continued operations for clients and currently, all other operations and service locations are running as per normal.
"Tiong Nam is awaiting additional test results and will provide timely updates," it said.
