KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations showed that the man caught for selling imitation firearms in Kelantan recently sold them only on social media for security reasons.
Further checks revealed that the suspect received his supply from two men in Kuala Lumpur. They are believed to have also supplied to other sellers.
They were also conducting over-the-counter sales of these so-called toys in a shop they operated here.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Azlin Sadari, who leads the Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Investigation and Intelligence, said the suspect sold the items only through TikTok live sessions.
"Based on this arrest, we were led to a location in Kuala Lumpur where we arrested a Malaysian and a foreigner."
Azlin said they were now investigating which country these items came from, as well as who the two individuals were supplying to.
