Affin Bank continues helping individual, business customers with targeted repayment assistance

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd has announced the continuation of targeted repayment assistance through its Financial Assistance and Instalment Relief programme (FAIR) until June this year.

In a statement today, Affin Bank said FAIR was a customised and supportive financial assistance solution to assist the bank's customers during these challenging times.

It is open for application by customers across all segments including retail, small and medium enterprises and corporate businesses.

Affin Bank said since the programme's introduction in August last year, FAIR had benefited over 40,000 customers nationwide via moratoriums and various other financial reliefs.

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the bank would continue to provide customers with access to financial assistance that they require during these difficult times.

"Customers are highly encouraged to come forward to check their eligibility and apply for the FAIR programme. For safety and convenience, applications can be submitted online or through our various other channels," he said.

Earlier this week, Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) and Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd announced that it would extend its enhanced targeted repayment assistance for customers adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The measure is in line with Bank Negara Malaysia's call for banking and financial institutions to assist borrowers based on their specific financial circumstances, following the re-imposition of the Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide until early next month.

Meanwhile, Bank Islam announced its enhanced targeted repayment assistance on November 23, 2020 to assist customers seeking for three-month deferment or reduction of up to 50 per cent monthly instalments for six months.

The financial assistance was offered to all financings approved before October 1, 2020, which were not in arrears for more than 90 days at the time of application.
