KUALA LUMPUR: Aerodyne Group is buying a principal stake Synapse Innovation Sdn Bhd (Synapse) to supercharge its prowess in artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics.
Aerodyne Group is a DT3 (drone tech, data technology and digital transformation) drone-based enterprise solutions provider.
It claims to be a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence as an enabling technology for large-scale data operations, analytics, and process optimisation.
Aerodyne Group founder and chief executive officer Kamarul A Muhamed said the investment into Synapse was the first of many future merger and acquisition (M&A) focusing on enhancing the breadth and depth of its second data technology pillar.
"Synapse is perfectly aligned to this vision and has the expertise to contribute to this agenda. Aerodyne Group also intends to accelerate Synapse's growth plans exponentially under its technology ecosystem building agenda to champion Malaysian technology," Kamarul said in a statement.
Synapse chief executive officer Afnizanfaizal Abdullah expressed excitement with the next phase of Synapse being an Aerodyne Group-backed company to help accelerate its scale-up plans to grow its operations from 30 data scientists to 500 AI engineers and data scientists within two to three years.
