Johor princess Tunku Kamariah is AHB chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Kamariah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar, a member of the Johor royal family, has been appointed as chairman of AHB Holdings Bhd.

Tunku Kamariah's appointment came a few days after AHB saw the emergence of a new substantial shareholder.

AHB, in a Bursa Malaysia filing last Wednesday, announced that RHB Trustees Bhd had on May 9 bought a total of 136.36 million shares representing a 28.69 per cent stake in the company. 

Tunku Kamariah is the eldest sister of the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

She currently is one of the trustees for the Sultan Iskandar Foundation, a foundation that supports the post-graduate scholars for the less privileged in their education and research works. 

She is the patron of P.S. The Children, an NGO for the sexually-abused children for Selangor and Federal Territory.

Internationally, Tunku Kamariah is an ambassador of the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University in the US.

In addition to her patronage to various charity organisations, Tunku Kamariah is active in the corporate world in Malaysia and has been involved in construction, development and agricultural businesses.

AHB operates as an office interior company. 

Its segment is the business of office interior products, office furniture and specialised computer finance. 

It products range includes System MX-DWS, Desking Covid-19 panels, meeting Covid-19 panels, workstation Covid-19 panels, electronic sit-to-stand, system MXV2, chess, cube, System B21, System T1, System b3, EX21, EX22, EX30 and VTor. 

The company has operations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South-Central Asia, Europe and America. 

Its subsidiaries include AHB Technology Sdn Bhd, AHB Marketing Sdn Bhd, Create Space Sdn Bhd and AHB Distribution Sdn Bhd.
