Boutique developer Selangor Dredging shines in US

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian boutique property developer Selangor Dredging Bhd (SDB) has bagged the World Gold Winner Award for the residential mid-rise category at the esteemed FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards 2023.

The global real estate industry's crème de la crème had gathered in Miami, United States, to honour outstanding projects redefining property development's art and science.

SDB's remarkable achievement at the FIABCI Awards is a resounding testament to our unyielding pursuit of excellence, the company said in a statement.

Competing against international developers, the Malaysian developer's winning project, Jui Residences in Singapore, stood tall, captivating judges and industry experts alike with its ingenious fusion of heritage, conservation and architectural innovations.

"This recognition reaffirms our commitment to creating transformative developments that will transcend mere structures but also enrich the lives and experiences of our customers," said SDB group managing director Teh Lip Kim.

SDB has been in the property business since 2002.

Jui Residences, a waterfront residential development, is inspired by art deco heritage and is right next to the Kallang River along Serangoon Road, Singapore.

The 18-storey tower presents 117 contemporarily crafted units ranging from 431 sq ft to 1,001 sq ft, with column-less layouts, allowing maximum natural lighting and ventilation throughout each home.

"Jui Residences embodies our relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to set new benchmarks and build lifelong relationships with all of our customers, which aligns with our brand promise of driving excellence and building lifelong relationships," added Teh.

The centrepiece at Jui Residences is the conserved National Aerated Water Co Ltd, a cultural heritage built in 1954 and associated with the bottling of Singapore's popular soft drink labels, Sinalco and Kickapoo.

This building, located within the grounds of Jui Residences development, also won the FIABCI Singapore Award in the heritage category.
