SEPANG: MYAirline Sdn Bhd plans to have a total of 20 Airbus A320 aircraft and launch international destinations to three more countries by the end of 2023.
MYAirline chief executive officer, Rayner Teo said the low-cost carrier is looking to introduce new cities in Indonesia and Vietnam as well as Singapore in its network in the near future.
"We currently have eight planes at this point of time. Our goal is to end this year with at least 20 planes. The team is working hard on that," he said at the launch of MYAirline's international flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok, Thailand here, today.
The event was graced by the Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke. On May 9, the New Straits Times has reported that MYAirline is introducing its first-ever international flight to Bangkok, Thailand from Kuala Lumpur starting 28 June this year.
The carrier will be flying to two airports in Bangkok, the Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport. Thailand is the budget carrier's first international foray after less than one-year operations in the local Malaysian market since Dec 1, 2022.
To date, MYAirline has carried over one million passengers within six months of operations out of its home base, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2.
