TNB kicks off registration for Energy Transition Conference

KUALA LUMPUR: To further spur the energy transition conversation, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has kicked off the registration for the Energy Transition Conference to be held on August 28 to 29, 2023, at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.

TNB said in a statement that the conference is set to bolster understanding of energy transition and showcase the demands of the international community that seeks better life quality through sustainable energy, transportation and urban development.

The Energy Transition conference will gather local leaders, international experts, industry players, policymakers, and communities to develop solutions and strategies.

"The two-day conference is scheduled to be filled with brainstorming sessions and in-depth discussions on borderless policies, technologies, and capabilities required by the regional energy transition," it said.

TNB also said the initiative aligned with TNB's effort to drive the energy transition agenda in Malaysia and extend it across the Asia Pacific.

This can be achieved by featuring sustainable customer-centric solutions, energy regulatory policies and transition technologies towards a greener energy ecosystem.

The company also said the conference fits the current trend of enhancing liveability, promoting innovation, and reducing environmental impact while maximising shared economic and social benefits in urban areas.

Additionally, it is also meant to stimulate meaningful changes as well as accelerate an effective energy transition.

TNB has indicated its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 by accelerating the company's energy transition drive.

The initiatives, among others, include enhancing the value of the power generation business, expanding the renewable energy (RE) market, strengthening the national power grid and developing the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.
