KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Corp Bhd, YTL Power International Bhd and Dialog Group Bhd's shares were three of 20 most actively traded stocks today, after MSCI Malaysia Index announced the inclusion of YTL Corp and YTL Power and removal Dialog as constituents, in its February review.
As at Jan 31, 2024, the MSCI Malaysia Index had 31 constituents.
The review will leave it with 30 constituents as at close of Feb 29, 2024.
The MSCI Malaysia Index is designed to measure the performance of the large and mid cap segments of the Malaysian market.
Dialog instead was included in MSCI Malaysia Small Cap Index, along with Hap Seng Consolidated, Hextar Global , Pavillion REIT and WCE Holdings.
SKP Resources, YTL Power International and Guan Chong Bhd were removed from the index.
The MSCI Malaysia Small Cap Index is designed to measure the performance of the small cap segments of the Malaysian market.
With 63 constituents as at Jan 31, 2024, the index covers about 14 per cent of the Malaysian equity universe.
With the changes to the index, it will have 65 constituents.
As at close of trading today, 31.5 milion YTL Corp shares, 28.7 million YTL Power shares and 29.1 million Dialog shares, changed hands.
YTL Corp's share price closed 1.29 per cent lower at RM2.29 a share, YTL Power's was down 1.73 per cent to RM3.98 a share, while Dialog was up 0.56 per cent to RM1.81 a share.
