KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Power International Bhd's share price slipped as much as seven per cent in early trade following its confirmation on the probe by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The stock's price fell 7.2 per cent to hit the lowest of RM3.61 versus Wednesday's closing price of RM3.89.
As of 10.05am, its share price was down 4.37 per cent or 17 sen, to RM3.72.
YTL Corporation Bhd's share price also took a hit as it slipped 6.7 per cent to RM2.80 from RM3 at yesterday's closing bell.
YTL Power confirmed that the MACC has requested information from its subsidiary, YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YTL Comms), on the 1Bestarinet Project.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia Securities, YTL Power said the project was awarded to YTL Communications in 2011 by the Education Ministry following an open tender that involved 19 companies.
