Theta Edge names former MIDF chairman Abd Rahman Mamat as chairman, Dayang Sadiah as director

KUALA LUMPUR: Theta Edge Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Abd Rahman Mamat as chairman, succeeding from Tengku Datuk Seri Hasmuddin Tengku Othman effective from July 9. 

The company also appointed Datuk Dayang Sadiah Abang Bohan to its board of directors. 

Abd Rahman is a seasoned financial leader with extensive experience in the financial sector. 

Currently, he leverages his expertise as chairman of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd and serves in the boards of various companies in technology, healthcare, logistics and manufacturing. 

Meanwhile, Dayang Sadiah has a distinguished career in public-private partnerships during her tenure at the Public Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) under the Prime Minister's Department.

The company said the appointments are part of its efforts to drive its business in response to changing economic conditions. 

"We are pleased with the appointment of both Tan Sri Abd Rahman who is a well-respected figure in Malaysia's corporate world and Datuk Dayang Sadiah who has a proven track record leading UKAS. 

"Both new board members possess a deep understanding of the challenges we face and see the opportunities we can have. We believe their extensive experience will be invaluable during our growth and development in both our telco and technology sectors," said Theta group chief executive officer Datuk Nuraslina Zainal Abidin. 

Theta noted the new chairman and board member will address key priorities namely enlarging the local market for ICT, improving digitalisation for the rural community and urban poor as well as exploring new markets.
