CelcomDigi says global IT outage has little to zero impact on its services

KUALA LUMPUR: CelcomDigi Bhd said there had been "no or limited impact" on customers and its operations during the global information technology (IT) outage triggered by a CrowdStrike software update on Friday.

In a statement on Saturday, the mobile network operator said network services were unaffected, and that its customers were able to use data and voice services as normal.

"Some disruption was experienced for support services, such as reload capabilities, for which service recovery teams were immediately deployed to set up workarounds, offering customers alternatives to continue reloading during this period.

"The company will continue monitoring its network and support services to ensure customers continue to enjoy CelcomDigi services seamlessly," it added.

CelcomDigi said customers who believe they had been impacted are encouraged to call its support hotline for help, which is (019) 601 1111 for Celcom, and (016) 2211 800 for Digi.

To keep customers duly informed, the company is posting service-related announcements on its website's front page and on social media, with more information on support provided during these events on the 'Notices' page, it said.
