AI responsible for "10-35pct" revenue generation across all industries?

KUALA LUMPUR: Artificial intelligence (AI) has influenced revenue generation by 10 to 35 per cent across all industries globally, according to ADA Asia.

Its chief executive officer Srinivas Gattamneni said this influence is seen throughout the user journey, where AI helps contextualise planning and the content shown to them.

He said the travel industry is a leading example, with about 32 per cent of its revenue influenced by AI.

"One thing about travel, it was the first to go e-commerce, there is a lot of data availability in that industry. Hence there is a lot of ability to actually use those data sets by AI for better personalisation," Srivinas said at Axiata's AI Roundtable today.

He noted that the travelling industry stands out because it often involves selling experiences and understanding a person's preferences, is crucial.

"This requires leveraging contextual data to create personalised and engaging content. The travel industry relies heavily on digital content, like captivating videos, to showcase experiences to potential travellers.

"AI plays a significant role in generating and confirming content tailored to individuals. The digitisation of the entire customer journey, combined with AI's capabilities, leads to a substantial influence of AI in the travel sector," he added.
