KUALA LUMPUR: Varia Bhd's unit Pembinaan Teguh Maju Sdn Bhd has bagged a RM61.45 million contract for the construction and completion of project at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Perak.
In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, Varia said Pembinaan Teguh has on August 14, accepted a letter of award from Kemuncak Pesaka Sdn Bhd for the project.
"The project is known as a proposal for designing, constructing, completing, testing, and commissioning the construction of student hostels, international and mobility centre, language skills centre, support spaces and external infrastructure, as well as related works at UPSI," it said.
According to Varia, the contract is for a period of 31 months from the date of commencement on August 19, 2024 until the date of completion on March 31, 2027.
It said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the company for the relevant financial periods within the duration of the contract.
"The contract will not have any effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of Varia," it added.
