KUALA LUMPUR: Itmax System Bhd, which is involved in supplying, installing and providing public space networked systems, says it has been awarded a RM539 million contract by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
Itmax will deploy 5,000 closed-circuit cameras to complement the existing video surveillance infrastructure in the city.
The cameras are equipped with cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities for real-time analytics, enhanced security monitoring and city management.
The contract spans 10 years comprising a one-year installation phase and a nine-year subscription phase.
Itmax managing director and chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun said as an AI-powered integrated digital infrastructure service provider, this is a significant milestone.
"We are now extensively deploying our AI-enhanced video surveillance system throughout Kuala Lumpur. Itmax's advanced AI capabilities will deliver real-time insights and analytics to support the city council in optimising urban management," he claimed.
"With this expansion, our video surveillance system will now encompass 10,000 intelligent surveillance units, seamlessly connected through our fibre optic network infrastructure across Kuala Lumpur," he said.
The enhancement, he added, would address the increasing challenges of urban complexity and security.
"We anticipate a sustained and increasing demand for comprehensive AI-driven surveillance solutions, which we believe will significantly enhance public safety and elevate the overall quality of life in the city," Tan said.
