KUALA LUMPUR: FGV Holdings Bhd has appointed its group chief financial officer Datuk Mohd Hairul Abdul Hamid as the acting group chief executive officer (GCEO) , with the departure of GCEO Datuk Mohd Nazrul Izam Mansor.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities, FGV said Mohd Nazrul departed the company as his contract ended on Sept 1, 2024.
Mohd Nazrul was appointed GCEO in 2021.
Newly appointed acting GCEO, Mohd Hairul, 54, has over 30 years experience in finance.
He was appointed GCFO of FGV on January 2, 2019.
He also has three professional qualification from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in United Kingdom, Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Prior to joining FGV as the group CFO in January 2019, he was the CFO of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) from March 2012 to December 2018.
Mohd Hairul began his career in Sime Darby Bhd in 1994 as management trainee and rose to become group accountant in 1997.
He joined Consolidated Plantations Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sime Darby, as Finance Manager in October 2002 before being appointed as the Plantation Financial Controller in June 2005.
He returned to Sime Darby in June 2006 as General Manager of Finance.
FGV's share price was down 0.81 per cent to RM1.23 a share, giving it a market capitalisation of RM4.5 billion.
