Betamek, Petronas institute to develop next-generation automotive solutions

KUALA LUMPUR: Betamek Bhd's subsidiary Betamek Research Sdn Bhd has entered into a research collaboration agreement with Institute of Technology Petronas Sdn Bhd (ITPSB).

ITPSB is a subsidiary of Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).

Betamek said the collaboration focuses on the development of an innovative project titled "SafeSync360: Next-Gen Infotainment with Child Guard Technology."

"The project aims to push the boundaries of automotive safety and infotainment by integrating cutting-edge technology that prioritises the safety and well-being of children within vehicles while providing informative entertainment content and solutions.

"This collaboration aligns with Betamek's strategic objectives to enhance its product offerings through innovation and technological advancement," it said today.

The SafeSync360 project is a step forward in developing next-generation automotive solutions that not only entertain but also protect passengers, Betamek executive director Muhammad Fauzi Abd Ghani said.

The partnership reflects the ongoing commitment to innovation and safety in the automotive industry.

"The SafeSync360 project is a testament to our dedication in developing advanced technologies that enhance the safety and experience of vehicle occupants, particularly children.

"We look forward to the successful completion of this project and the positive impact it will have on our future product offerings," he added.

The intellectual property (IP) from the collaboration will be owned by Betamek Research.

This includes any inventions, methods, processes, designs, plans, drawings, scientific, technical, or engineering information or documentation developed during the project.

Betamek said both parties had mutually agreed upon the terms and conditions related to IP ownership.
