Enhanced offerings at SAS2024

KUALA LUMPUR: This year's Selangor Aviation Show 2024 (SAS 2024) promises to deliver enhanced offerings, greater international participation, and cutting-edge advancements in aerospace technology.

Hosted by the Selangor State Government and organised by Invest Selangor, the fourth edition of the show is set to take place from Sept 12 to 14, at the SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre (RAC) in Selangor.

The event will feature over 150 exhibitors, including 40 participating in a career fair aimed at providing opportunities within the aviation sector.

Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Hasan Azhari said 72 exhibitors from across the globe have confirmed their participation, including industry giants such as Textron Aviation Inc., Precision Aviation Group and Wingsoverasia Pte Ltd. from Singapore, Dassault Aviation from France, Cirrus Aircraft from Australia and Signum Aviation Ltd. and Voluxis Limited from the UK.

Locally, participants include National Aerospace Industry Corporation (NAICO) Malaysia, UMW Aerospace Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), Batik Air, Altec Industrial & Engineering Sdn Bhd, and members of the Malaysia Aviation Industry Association (MAIA).

These global and regional participants underscore the event's international prestige and the strong presence of industry leaders.

Invest Selangor has also secured static displays from the USA, France, Cambodia and Malaysia, featuring aircraft such as the Diamond aircraft, Falcon 8x, Caravan, Piaggio Avanti, Super Petrel, Ellips Spirit, and HA-420.

"This year, we are introducing an exciting element of lifestyle that complements both business and general aviation. Our attendees will be treated to an extraordinary display of exotic cars from our esteemed car partners, Bufori and Proton Smart Brabus.

"These displays will not only showcase the sleek, cutting-edge design of these vehicles but also highlight the seamless integration of leisure and performance, which resonates deeply with the aviation industry.

"SAS 2024 will also feature a Career Fair, which is a fantastic platform for those looking to enter or advance in the aviation industry. Hasan anticipates over 30 memoranda of understanding and sales agreements, with transactions projected to exceed RM1.3 billion, up from RM823 million last year, and a turnout of 25,000 regional participants.

"We will be hosting a series of insightful talks that will tackle some of the most pressing issues in the industry today. These discussions will cover current industry trends, supply chain challenges, and the growing importance of sustainability. It's an incredible opportunity for professionals and enthusiasts alike to gain valuable insights from industry leaders."

"We'll also be showcasing sustainable aviation practices and facilitating discussions on how the industry can innovate while reducing its ecological footprint.

"One of the initiatives we are most excited about is our NextGen Leaders programme. This is designed to give the youth a deep understanding of what it takes to become an apprentice in the aerospace and aviation sectors.

"It's all about nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals and ensuring they have the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.

"In addition, we are very proud to introduce the Women in Aviation Awards. This ceremony which will be happening on the evening of Sept 12 and a collaboration between Women in Aviation Asia, Business Aviation and General.

Aviation Malaysia as well as Women@ MalaysiaAviationGroup (Women@ MAG) is particularly close to our hearts as it aims to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of women in the aviation industry.

"We believe that acknowledging these trailblazers will inspire a new generation of women to pursue careers in this dynamic field," he added.

Meanwhile, visitors can enjoy a variety of food and beverage options from vendors in the event area, Sky- Park, and food trucks stationed in the Stadium parking lot.

Visitors can park at Stadium Shah Alam and use the free shuttle bus service to reach the event area. MyCar, the event's official e-hailing partner, is offering a RM2 discount on rides to and from SAS 2024 for visitors.

The event area will also be accessible for wheelchairs and baby strollers, ensuring convenience for parents and those with mobility challenges.
