KUALA LUMPUR: Central Global Bhd's sub-subsidiary, RYRT International Sdn Bhd (RYRT), has been awarded a RM616.4 million contract by Pembinaan Urusmesra Sdn Bhd for the construction and completion of a highway project in Sabah.
The project, known as "Projek Lebuhraya Pan Borneo Sabah Fasa 1B: Menaik Taraf Jalan dari Lahad Datu Bypass ke Kg. Sandau Work Package (WP) 22," involves RYRT providing the required plant, machinery, labour, and materials for the project's construction and completion.
The contract will commence on Sept 30, 2024 and end on March 29, 2028.
"The project award has significantly increased our order book by 456.3 per cent amounting to RM751.5 million," it said.
Central Global managing director Chew Hian Tat stated that the contract strongly reflects the company's ability to successfully manage and deliver a megaproject of this scale.
"We are now rather optimistic and eagerly looking forward towards future project awards from our tender books estimated to be at RM3.7 billion," he said.
In a filing with the bourse, the company stated that securing this contract is anticipated to generate a steady stream of revenue for Central Global over the next three and a half years.
