MARKET PULSE PM SEPT 6, 2024 [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: News on stock, crypto and ringgit moves.

The 30-stock index closed the week sharply lower, influenced by a widespread global equity sell-off.

It closed at 1,653 points.

Regional markets mirrored this downturn, driven by concerns over a US recession and slightly negative cue on Wall Street.

The benchmark index will likely trend within the range of 1,650 to 1,670 for next week.

Meanwhile, the ringgit strengthened against the greenback today to 4.3310.

In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin fell to RM242,730 as investors awaited a crucial US jobs report which may impact the Federal Reserve's decision regarding interest rates.

That's it for Market Pulse.
