Binastra bags RM574m job to build data centre in Bukit Jalil, KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Binastra Corporation Bhd's unit, Binastra Builders Sdn Bhd, has secured a contract worth RM574.4 million from Exsim Jalil Link Sdn Bhd (EJL) for the development of a data centre in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement with Bursa Malaysia Securities, it said the contract was for design, construction, completion, testing and commission as well as maintenance and guarantee for the proposed development.

The contract will start on Oct 1, 2024 and is expected to complete within 16 months from the date.

It entails the development of a block of five-storey data center building, office space, a guardhouse, a refuse room and an electrical substation.

"The contract is expected to provide additional income stream for the group over the next two financial years," it said in the filing.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings for the financial years ending Jan 31, 2025 and 2026.

The company's share price rose 3.5 per cent or half a sen to RM1.47 a share after the announcement, giving it a market capitalisation of almost RM1.6 billion.
