KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed midday in the red dragged by plantation and healthcare sectors.
At 12.30pm, FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI was down 0.4 per cent or 6.59 points to 1,657.69 versus Tuesday's close of 1,664.28.
The key index opened flat at 1,664.33 and moved between 1,655.08 and 1,664.78 in the first half of the trading session.
The broader market was negative with losers leading gainers 523 to 326 while 422 counters were unchanged.
The index board was a sea of red with FBM100 tumbling 0.43 per cent to 12,085.33, FBM Emas lost 0.4 per cent to 13,051.85 and FBM Ace shed 0.55 per cent to 5,074.43.
Gainers were Theta Edge Bhd, Ajinomoto (M) Bhd and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd which added 34 sen, 32 sen and 32 sen respectively to RM1.97, RM15.36 and RM30.32.
On the losing end, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd lost 38 sen to RM 30.56, United Plantations Bhd was down 30 sen to RM26.50 and KESM Industries Bhd dropped 28 sen to RM5.06.
