AmBank and Bask Bear to open 10 more cafe banking outlets, expand to Sabah, Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank and Bask Bear targets to open another 10 cafè banking outlets and expand to Sabah and Sarawak, in 2025.

Founder and chief executive officer Bryan Loo said the company is looking at the potential to open outlets in Sabah and Sarawak.

"Our vision is to add 10 branches every year. We have discussed about the possibility to expand further. The goal is to cover nationwide," he added at the launch of the eight cafe banking outlet at the AmBank PJ New Town branch today.

It is close to achieving its 10 outlets target by end of 2024 after the launch today.

There are seven other branches, four in Selangor, one in  Kedah, Penang and Johor.

Owned by Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, Bask Bear partnered with AmBank, for the inaugural launch of the first community banking concept in 2023.

With nearly 3,500 sq ft shared between AmBank and Bask Bear, the AmBank PJ New Town, which has been around since 1991, is the latest branch to display the "Community Banking" concept.

AmBank said the initiative has transformed traditional banking by integrating lifestyle elements into AmBank's branch network.
