KUALA LUMPUR: Warner Music is looking into different avenues to show the power of music across different brands and industries that will bring value to the artists and ecosystem in Malaysia.
Warner Music Malaysia and Singapore managing director Dinesh Ratnam said it is finding more new opportunities to work with different brands to enhance the value and power of music.
"We recently announced a partnership with Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) where we are the official music partner and that's an iconic first-time partnership as well," he told Business Time after announcing the upcoming "Futureland" Festival today.
"Futureland" Festival, which Warner Music Malaysia (WMM) will host for the first time on Nov 23, is expected to attract 10,000 visitors, aiming to elevate the local music industry.
WMM is set to ignite a new chapter for live music at the iconic Stadium Merdeka with health and beauty retailer Watsons Malaysia coming onboard as the title sponsor as part of its 30th anniversary celebration in the country.
Dinesh said the Malaysian music scene is brimming with immense potential.
"We have an extremely talented pool of artists that are waiting for their next big break."
The festival is an extension of the company's ongoing efforts to elevate the local music industry, providing a platform for established artists to showcase their work to a wider audience and opens doors for emerging talent, he added.
"This exposure, coupled with Warner Music Malaysia's dedication to artist development, will help Malaysian music reach new heights," he said.
On the value created by the event for WMM, Dinesh said Futureland Festival is a culmination of several key goals for the company.
He said the company saw a tremendous growth in the Malaysian music scene, with the artists achieving milestones like topping Spotify charts and breaking into international markets.
"This festival is our way of celebrating that success and providing a platform for established and emerging talent to connect with fans on a grand scale.
"It's also part of our commitment to fostering a thriving live music ecosystem in Malaysia."
He added that through cooperation with stakeholders in the live music ecosystem, while also facilitating strategic support and infrastructure development, the company aspires to attract top-tier talent and enhance Malaysia's reputation as a vibrant hub for live music experiences.
He said the overall vision is to solidify Malaysia as a prominent hub for music and entertainment.
"We're committed to facilitating global collaborations, fostering cross-cultural exchanges and expanding the reach of our talented artists on a global scale.
"The live music scene is a vital part of achieving this, and we hope Futureland becomes a premier destination for regional and global artists to tour," he added.
