EON brings "green" energy to Orang Asli in Rompin with SOLS Foundation's help

KUALA LUMPUR: EON Bhd has formed a collaboration with non-profit organisation SOLS Foundation to bring renewable energy to Orang Asli communities in Rompin, Pahang with the use of solar panels.

EON chief executive officer Akkbar Danial said the company is driving positive change through such initiatives by creating new opportunities and improving the quality of life within deserving communities.

He added that the installation of solar panels would help ensure constant electricity supply for the community in Kampung Binjai, which in turn would foster better living conditions and improve education efforts, while stimulating the local economy.

At a signing ceremony held at EON's headquarters at Glenmarie today, Akkbar handed over 33 solar panels to SOLS Foundation to be transported and installed at the village.

The project is part of the company's ongoing "Wheels of Hope 2.0" initiative to drive empowerment and enable activities which will help advance sustainability goals.

"We hope to continue exploring new ways to support our local communities, including with SOLS Foundation.

"Today's handover of the solar panels adds to our efforts in creating sustainable impact. Together, we are making a difference - one solar panel at a time," Akkbar added.
