KUALA LUMPUR: Ninja Van Malaysia and Global Peace Foundation Malaysia (Global Peace) have launched a new initiative aimed at uplifting the lives of the Orang Asli community in Kampung Sualang, Rompin, Pahang.
The three-year partnership is structured into three key phases, focusing on sustainable farming techniques that are cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
The first phase emphasises land preparation and the installation of renewable energy solutions, such as solar-powered irrigation and fencing.
The second phase will concentrate on planting and maintaining farm plots using natural techniques like mulching and pruning, while the final phase aims to empower the community through the harvesting, processing, packaging, and transporting of their homemade chips.
Villagers in Kampung Sualang face challenges in securing sustainable livelihoods due to economic marginalisation and limited access to better opportunities.
This partnership seeks to promote sustainable development and community enhancement, advancing local agriculture, integrating renewable energy solutions, and fostering economic stability—marking a significant step toward lasting positive change.
With active participation from over 20 departments at Ninja Van Malaysia, the initiative aims to impact approximately 80 villagers, highlighting a shared commitment to sustainable development.
"Our partnership with Global Peace underscores our commitment to making a meaningful social impact. Our logistics capabilities enable us to effectively serve even the most remote areas.
"Since we began collaborating in 2022, we have completed 19 deliveries spanning over 5,000 km, demonstrating our ability to deliver real value. We are excited to continue this journey and explore further opportunities to support the Orang Asli community," said Ninja Van Malaysia's head of Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, and Environment, Fairul Hidayah Jaffar.
Global Peace chief executive officer Dr Teh Su Thye added, "We are delighted to continue our partnership with Ninja Van Malaysia as we work to empower more Orang Asli communities.
"This next phase of our collaboration focuses on fostering food security and livelihood stability, promising to make a lasting positive impact. The ongoing support from our partners is crucial for extending our reach and improving the lives of more villagers. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together."
"This partnership exemplifies how businesses and nonprofits can unite to create a lasting impact in our local communities.
"By leveraging our combined strengths, we hope to build sustainable solutions and inspire others to join the movement for a better future," Fairul Hidayah concluded.
