KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Bhd has introduced what it claims as Malaysia's first academic health system.
The KPJ Academic Health System integrates education and research within its hospitals, the company said.
The initiative aligns with the national healthcare goals and supports Malaysia's vision of establishing a world-class healthcare system, KPJ added.

KPJ Healthcare University chairman Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim said rethinking and reimagining hospitals are needed as it is no longer just about providing treatment.
"Hospitals must evolve beyond being mere treatment centres. They must embrace cutting-edge solutions such as AI - driven diagnostics and personalised medicine, and shift the focus toward preventive care and overall wellbeing, creating a more sustainable healthcare system," he added.
The launch was officiated by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, alongside KPJ Healthcare University chairman Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim and KPJ chairman Tan Sri Dr. Ismail Bakar.
