KUALA LUMPUR: Global investment leader Bin Zayed International Group of Companies (BZI) has pledged an initial investment of US$2 billion (approximately RM9.4 billion) in Malaysia over the next five years, signaling confidence in the nation's economic potential.
Bin Zayed International (M) Bhd (Bin Zayed Bhd) managing director Datuk Seri Shamir Kumar Nandy said BZI's investment focus will initially target the real estate sector, aligning with the group's core operations.
Beyond real estate, Shamir said the group is exploring opportunities in financial services and renewable energy, sectors identified as having significant growth potential in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region.
"The US$2 billion is just an initial benchmark. Depending on opportunities that arise, we are prepared to exceed this commitment," he said at the official launch of BZI's latest office in Kuala Lumpur here, today.
BZI today opened its office at the Tun Razak Exchange in Kuala Lumpur, heralding the firm's entry into Southeast Asia.

BZI chairman Sheikh Khaled Zayed Saquer Zayed Al Nahyan said the group's presence in Malaysia marks another step forward in its journey from local roots in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to global expansion.
Sheikh Khaled said as Southeast Asia stands poised to become an economic powerhouse, the group is dedicated to becoming stakeholders in this region by contributing to this growth and fostering widespread prosperity.
