[Updated] Azam Jaya chairman Joseph Lo passes away at 74

KUALA LUMPUR: Contsruction company Azam Jaya Bhd's executive chairman Tan Sri Joseph Lo Tain Foh has passed away at the age of 74.

The company in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday, said Lo Tain Foh, died on Saturday at the Gleneagles Hospital. Azam Jaya Bhd temporarily halted trading in its shares for an hour following the announcement.

Datuk Johannes Lo Chaw Jack also ceased to be an alternate director following the passing of Lo Tain Foh.

Azam Jaya is renowned for its contributions to government and infrastructure projects across Sabah.

The company specialises in constructing road infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, flyovers, and tunnels.

Currently, Azam Jaya is engaged in eight ongoing projects with an unbilled contract value amounting to RM1.08 billion.

The company's share price last traded at 83 sen giving it a market capitalisation of RM415 million.
