KUALA LUMPUR: Datasonic Group Bhd has bagged two contract extensions worth RM81.24 million from the Home Ministry.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Datasonic said these contract extensions were awarded to its wholly-owned Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd.
The first extension is valued at RM21.39 million, including 8.0 per cent sales and service tax.
It involves comprehensive maintenance services for card personalisation centres at the National Registration Department (JPN).
The 12-month extension, from Dec 1, 2024, to Nov 30, 2025, includes hardware and software maintenance, personalisation solutions and technical support across JPN's headquarters and branches.
The latest extension brings the total contract value since 2021 to RM94 million.
The second contract extension is valued at RM59.85 million, exempted from 6.0 per cent SST.
The job scopes consist of the supply of MyKad, MyTentera, MyPOCA raw cards and consumables for JPN.
It will run for a year from Dec 1, 2024, to Nov 30, 2025, bringing the cumulative contract value to RM116.35 million.
Datasonic expects both contract extensions to contribute to its earnings and net assets for the financial year ending March 31, 2025 and beyond.
In line with the extensions, Datasonic will also be required to provide new or additional performance bonds.
Datasonic's share price closed 1.3 per cent, or half a sen lower at 39.5 sen on Monday, valuing it at RM1.17 billion.
