LTAT companies support communities affected by floods

KUALA LUMPUR:The Armed Forces Fund Board's (LTAT) group of companies have delivered flood relief assistance, amounting to RM782,800 to support communities affected by the recent floods across Malaysia.

Pharmaniaga Bhd, Boustead Holdings Bhd, Boustead Plantations, Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd, Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd, Boustead Properties Bhd and Affin Group Bhd worked with the Defence Ministry, the armed forces, Department of Social Welfare and various non-governmental organisations to provide timely and essential assistance. 

They distributed over 24,000 packs of essential drugs, including vitamins and supplements to aid recovery efforts in Terengganu and Kelantan.

Boustead Plantations contributed RM50,000 to NGOs supporting flood-affected communities in Kelantan, Kedah, Terengganu, and Pahang.

Boustead Holdings, in partnership with Boustead Plantation and BHIC, will support NGOs in Kelantan with a contribution of RM27,500.

BHPetrol supplied 400 packs of essential items to evacuation centres through the Ministry of Defence and the armed forces.  

Affin offered its Natural Disaster Relief Programme to support clients impacted by floods, offering financial relief across various loans and financial products, including the option to apply for a moratorium of up to six months, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

LTAT chief executive Mohammad Ashraf Md. Radzi said the fund remains proactive in its efforts by working closely with partners to ensure impactful assistance for Malaysians affected by the floods.

"Our primary focus is to provide timely support to families, especially MAF personnel and veterans, who play a critical role in disaster response. We hope this aid will offer essential relief and care as they navigate the challenges of the rainy season.  

"Our hearts go out to all those affected by the floods, and we stand in solidarity with them as they rebuild their lives.

"We also wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for the tireless efforts of the frontliners, volunteers and support teams – especially the members of the armed forces – whose unwavering dedication and selflessness are making a profound impact on the lives of those in need.", he added
