Bitcoin broke the much-awaited US$100,000 mark for the first time on Thursday, on hopes US president-elect Donald Trump will push through measures to deregulate cryptocurrencies when he takes office next month.
Bitcoin has more than doubled in value this year and is up about 45 per cent in the four weeks since Trump's election victory.
Bitcoin was trading at RM449,699 on Luno exchange, while on Coinbase it was trading at RM454,788.
Meanwhile, Bursa Malaysia's key index extended its gains on Thursday and is expected to trend within the 1,615 to 1,625 points range today.
