BHIC appoints former Air Force Chief as new chairman after a 4-year vacancy

KUALA LUMPUR: Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC) has appointed retired Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief Tan Sri Roslan Saad as its new chairman.

He was chief of RMAF between 2014 and 2016.

Its last chairman was Tan Sri Ramlan Mohamed Ali, who resigned in 2021.

BHIC completed the sale of its 20.77 interest in littoral combat ship manufacturer Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS) to a Ministry of Finance Inc company for RM1 in May 2024.

BHIC swung into a net profit of RM6.5 million for the nine-month period ended Sep 30, 2024, from a RM7.1 million net loss a year ago.

It last traded at 38.5 sen a share, giving it a market capitalisation of RM217.2 million.
