KUALA LUMPUR: EA Technique (M) Bhd has proposed to change its name to Avangaad Bhd in a bid to uplift its Practice Note 17 (PN17) status by the first quarter of 2025 (Q1 2025).
The company said it reflects a clear focus on operational excellence and long-term sustainability.
The proposal will be tabled for shareholder approval in a circular and at the upcoming extraordinary general meeting (EGM), with the date to be announced later.
EA said the new name reflects its commitment to leveraging its unparalleled naval expertise to sustain leadership and drive innovation in the maritime industry.
"The proposed name change is an exciting milestone in our journey. It reflects our strategic purpose and marks a significant chapter in our pursuit of growth and industry leadership.
"We are confident that this new identity will resonate deeply with our shareholders, customers, and partners as we enter this new phase of development," said executive director Datuk Mubarak Hussain Akhtar Husin.
The company views this initiative as a critical step in unlocking shareholder value by reinforcing its market presence and ensuring alignment with its evolving business priorities.
EA Technique's share price dropped 1.69 per cent or half a sen to 29 sen with a market capitalisation of RM378.20 million as at midday.
