KUALA LUMPUR: Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd, a member of MMC Group, has signed sale and purchase agreements with Lincotec Technology (M) Sdn Bhd for a four-hectare industrial land at Senai Airport City's Free Industrial Zone.
Lincotec is a subsidiary of Taiwanese Linco Technology Co Ltd that develops and produces high-precision sputtering and plasma etching equipment, including electromagnetic interference shielding (EMI) of semiconductor system in package (SiP).
The solutions are widely adopted by outsourced semiconductor assembly and test, integrated device manufacturers and electronics manufacturing services companies.
Senai Airport City chief executive officer Gan Seng Keong said Linco Technology's choice to establish a presence at the location is poised to contribute significantly to Johor's growth in artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
"Linco Technology's investment in the SiP dry process underscores Senai Airport City's position as an investors' choice for the semiconductor segments, particularly with green technology applications.
"This collaboration between Malaysia and Taiwan's technology investors promises to leapfrog the local technological supply chain," he said in a statement.
Linco Technology chairmain Leon Chen said the investment marks a key step to expand the company's operations in developing the green technology segment.
"Senai Airport City provides an ideal location and infrastructure to scale up our operations for the Asia Pacific region.
"This is an exciting opportunity to not only grow our business but to foster collaboration on green technology initiatives that will drive long-term success in Malaysia and beyond", he added.
