THE award winning Maserati MC20 just added another accolade to its list achievements, this time as the "most beautiful supercar of the year 2021".
Awarded during the 36th edition of the Festival Automobile International which was held online, the 100 per cent Italian-made MC20 was designed at the Centro Stile Maserati in Turin, developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab, and produced at their Modena plant.
"We are honoured to receive this coveted accolade, which recognises the work of an entire team who have made a whole-hearted commitment to this unique project, creating a car that opens a new chapter in Maserati's history," said Maserati head of design Klaus Busse.
The car, which marks Maserati's return to the super sports car segment, features a new 630hp V6 Nettuno engine that delivers 0-100kph acceleration in under 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 325kph (an engine 100 per cent patented, conceived, designed and built entirely by Maserati).
Its most prominent aesthetical appeal is its driver and passenger-friendly sports butterfly doors (from both inside and outside the cabin) and is the first Maserati supercar to have vertical headlights with distinct wide, low, horizontal rear light clusters.
The MC20 has also won the "Performance Car" category of the "China Car of the Year 2021" (CCOTY 2021) event since its global premier last September at the MMXX international show in Modena.
