Shell appoints Seow Lee Ming as GM of Mobility for Malaysia, Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Malaysia has appointment Seow Lee Ming as General Manager (GM) Mobility for Malaysia and Singapore.

She takes on the role effective this month and will lead the strategic development and growth of mobility in both countries.

"I am happy to welcome Lee Ming into the role. I am confident that she will further develop and drive the growth of mobility in Malaysia and Singapore with her wealth of industry experience and remarkable achievements in her former roles at Shell. I look forward to continued success and sustainable growth under the new leadership," said Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd managing director Shairan Huzani Husain.

Lee Ming joined Shell in 2003 and has held several global and regional leadership key roles. She led a Global Key Account Managers team to service and grow the business partnerships with Shell's prestigious customers as the GM of Global Key Accounts for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in Asia.

She also led Shell's China 2030 roadmap as GM Strategy and Business Development for China/HK. Leading a team of 53 marketing professionals she successfully transformed Shell's digital and social media approach, built a premium brand, and developed effective B2C and B2B engagement activities.

Additionally she also spearheaded various global initiatives as Shell Rimula Global Brand Manager. She was also the Regional Marketing Manager in Southeast Asia, focusing on growing automotive and B2B businesses.

"I am thrilled to be able to impact and add significant value to the growth of the company and the industry through my new role. As the world's first mobility retailer, serving more than 30 million customers daily across the globe, we must evolve in a targeted manner to support future sectors," said Lee Ming, who holds a first-class honours bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Birmingham and a master's in management studies from the Judge Business School of Cambridge University.

"This entails accelerating the transition towards net-zero emissions by providing cleaner energy solutions grounded by our overall global aspiration. We will continue to transform and drive innovation to forge a sustainable and resource-efficient environment so that our customers can go well on their daily journeys," she said.

Mobility will contribute towards Shell's ambition to be a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050 or sooner. It supports the transition to a lower-carbon future to keep in step with society. To this end the company is investing in lower-carbon mobility options and collaborate closely with governments and industry partners to ensure services are inclusive and accessible to best serve its customers.
