KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing (TDEM), Toyota's regional office in Asia for engineering, manufacturing and other functions, received multiple "Decade of Safer Vehicle Awards" in conjunction with the Asean NCAP's 10th Anniversary Celebration.
The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries turned 10 years old on Dec 8 and the celebration was held on Dec 9 in Malaysia.
The Toyota Brand has received four awards, including "Best Adult Occupant Protection 2017- 2020" for C-HR, "Best Safety Assist 2019" for Majesty/Granvia, "The Most 5-Star Car 2017- 2020" and "The Most 5-Star Car 2012-2020," as it was recognised to have acquired the most 5-Star cars in the 10 years since Asean NCAP was introduced.
"We are very honored and humbled to be recognised across various categories on the occasion of Asean NCAP's 10th Anniversary, and are committed to making our products and technologies 'ever better and ever safer' when compared to the past. We also would like to congratulate Asean NCAP on this celebrated occasion, over which time they have helped usher in greater safety for the people of this region," said TDEM executive vice president Prasanna Ganesh.
