Now you can visualise your dream renovation before installing the tiles with a new 3D rendering technology
WITH 15 years of experience in various industries, Niro Granite chief retail officer Keith Loh has got it all when it comes to renovating your house and workplace.
It all goes back to the time when Loh found it a hassle to "hop" from one shop to another while looking for tiles and sanitary wares to carry out a renovation.
He discovered that selecting tiles from a myriad of colours, brands and materials while trying to visualise the outcome can be challenging.
"As a homeowner myself, I can relate to the difficulties that others face when picking the best tiles for their homes and workspaces.
"Envisioning is not enough and it may not turn out to be satisfying, resulting in negative and often regretful experiences with tiling.
"Now with Niro Granite's Creative Lab outlets, you can literally 'bring home your ideas', which also happens to be our tagline," he said.
"Therefore, to ease the homeowner's shopping experience, Niro Granite's Creative Lab can create an experiential retail environment of free 3D designs of an area.
"This ensures that customers enhance and renovate their spaces with the best tiles and sanitary wares," he said.
Loh has 15 years' experience in various industries—from media and retail, food and beverage, to property development.
He has also worked with notable brands, such as IKEA, Big Tree Outdoor, Burger King Malaysia & Singapore, ParkCity Group of Companies and CoolBlog.
"I love building brands and businesses across various regions that involve lifestyle-focused industries.
"As the chief retail officer of Niro Granite, I have to be the strategic driver to oversee, direct and plan every retail development and expansion of the Creative Lab brand as a part of Niro Ceramic Group," he added.
NEW TECH FOR TILING
Creative Lab by Niro Granite is a new retail concept that produces swiss-quality tiles and other products.
Its specialty includes cutting-edge design technology that provides 3D ambient imagery for customers to envision their dream home fitted with Niro Granite tiles and sanitary wares.
"The proprietary software helps us to create photo-quality 3D renderings instantly by providing simple measurement or layout.
"Our designers will create 3D space with real lighting environments with other home elements for the 3D effect.
"Furthermore, customers get to revise as many free 3D designs to their hearts' content as quickly as 15 minutes. They will also generate a personalised recreation of the intended renovation space," said Loh, adding that the new technology can save customers' time and money.
The tile industry hasn't been evolving for the longest time, and Niro Granite is one of the first companies to bring technology into the industry.
"Creative Lab by Niro Granite is the first in Malaysia to offer 3D design services that allow customers to play a part in the designing process, where changes can be made on the spot, with no additional cost.
"Additionally, customers get to provide their budget for us to generate an immediate quotation. To make things easier, we have 39 outlets nationwide that are near to neighbourhoods, which are closer to them," Loh said.
CHALLENGES
Since the pandemic struck, many people have started dabbling in home improvements as they are cooped up most of the time.
"Fixing things, such as cracked tiles is among the tips they request for. However, due to the Movement Control Order (MCO), physical consultations are not possible.
"This is why we've remained flexible and are pivoting with the new circumstances as we develop online consultations that let clients speak to designers virtually and design their homes," Loh said.
He added that Niro Granite is complying with standard operating procedures and is conducting special voucher sales on online platforms like Shopee and Lazada.
"In challenging times, especially in retail, getting the word out there to more people about our products and services is no easy feat. Our focus is on brand awareness and we've worked with many partners, influencers and social media channels to showcase our work.
"Providing a great product is our goal and we believe that this is the age of brand collaboration so that we can explore new working partnerships with other home renovation and interior partners for product expansion," he added.
FUTURE PLANS
Moving forward, Creative Lab plans to launch the first Creative Lab Franchise programme in Malaysia and Asia.
"We look forward to having 10 to 12 franchisees in 2021, and with our corporate outlet expansion, we hope to open about 60 outlets nationwide.
"Also, we are focusing on our regional expansion as we have three outlets in Indonesia, two in Vietnam and one in the Philippines. We look forward to continuing to expand and providing our products and services in Malaysia and the region," Loh said.
Creative Lab's frequent customers are not only homeowners, but also other retail lifestyle brands like Tealive and Union Coffee.
