#TECH: Huawei launches new flagship products for APAC market

KUALA LUMPUR: Huawei announced six new flagship products at its recent APAC summer launch event.

President of Huawei Consumer Business Group APAC, Alex Lin, said that Huawei will continue to provide more powerful smart devices, and strive for bringing the more perfect, richer and comprehensive smart life experience in all scenarios to the consumers in the APAC region.

HUAWEI nova 8i

The Huawei nova Series has aimed to become the smartphone that young people love the most. Huawei design and R&D teams combined their passion for life and technology to create more and more beautiful and powerful products to bring happiness and satisfaction to devoted users.

Complete with Super Camera, Super Charge, and Super Screen, the HUAWEI nova 8i delivers powerful features including 64MP AI quad--a perfect device for content creators.

The first new Huawei smartphone of the year, the 8i is also the first nova series smartphone that is powered with Huawei's 66W Huawei SuperCharge, which takes only 38 minutes to fully charge the smartphone, offering uninterrupted productivity and entertainment.

Equipped with a 6.67-inch Huawei edgeless display, the 94.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio smartphone allows consumers to dive into an immersive viewing experience anywhere and anytime.

Thanks to the NCVM (non-conductive vacuum metallisation) process, the phone's back cover features a beautiful visual and a sleek 4D curved design. It brings the ultimate holding experience to the consumer.

MATEPAD SERIES

Powered by HarmonyOS 2, the HUAWEI MatePad series can work with Huawei PCs and HUAWEI MateView for multi-screen collaboration.

The tablet can become a drawing sketch pad in Mirror mode and a monitor in Extend mode. It also supports cross-device file dragging and transferring, providing a more efficient and collaborative multi-device experience.

In the Huawei MatePad series are the MatePad Pro 12.6-inch, MatePad Pro 10.8-inch, and MatePad 11.

The MatePad Pro 12.6 and 10.8 are equipped with a gorgeous bezel-less screen, with a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio, the highest in the world, while the MatePad 11 is Huawei's first tablet to support a 120Hz screen refresh rate, for smoother visual experience for gaming and viewing.

The Huawei MatePad Pro (Olive Green) is priced at RM4,399 as is available for purchase from Huawei online store, participating Huawei partner stores such as Shopee Huawei official store, Lazada Huawei flagship store as well as Senheng. However, the availability of the new MatePad 11 will be announced at a later date.

MATEVIEW DISPLAYS

The Huawei MateView is designed for smart office scenarios and features professional colour display performance.

It is the first Huawei flagship standalone monitor that features a large 28.2-inch 4K Ultra-HD display with 94 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

Built with both wired and wireless connectivity, the display can be connected to smartphones, laptops, and tablets where consumers can enjoy ultimate efficiency in completing day-to-day tasks.

The keyboard and mouse can be connected to a monitor to control other devices such as laptops and mobile phones in another way round, greatly improving the working efficiency.

It also offers OneHop Projection that helps users initiate Desktop Mode wirelessly for instant file transfer by simply dragging and sharing onto other Huawei devices, taking productivity to the next level.

Introduced as Huawei's first gaming desktop monitor, the MateView GT is also Huawei's first curved monitor with 34-inch ultrawide display that supports a class-leading refresh rate of 165Hz, that perfectly fits gaming and esports scenarios.

With a screen ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 3440 × 1440, it is designed to maximise gaming delightment and create an immersive entertainment experience for players especially with it's TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and an Integrated Soundbar design.

The MateView GT boasts a remarkable surround-sound that is best suited for gaming and streaming. To top it off, this feature offers a RGB touch panel for customisable lighting effect and easy volume adjustment through simple touch gestures.

The Huawei MateView is retailed at RM2,988, and the MateView GT at RM2,488. Both monitors are available for pre-order on Huawei online store, participating Huawei partner stores such as Shopee Huawei official store, Lazada Huawei flagship store as well as Senheng.

EARBUDS

In terms of sound quality, the Huawei FreeBuds 4 uses a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) composite diaphragm, which can deliver high-resolution sound quality.

Weighing only 4.1g per earbud, not only that it is lightweight, it's Adaptive Ear Matching (AEM) noise cancellation technology is the first in any open-fit earbuds. It enhances the accuracy of ambient noise, giving consumers a transformative hearing experience.

With no significant quality loss, the treble part sounds richer and more detailed.

The earbud supports dual device connection, providing users with the ultimate entertainment experience. Huawei aims to deliver a new experience for proactive health management in the digital era by working with upstream and downstream app developers, medical device manufacturers, and professional medical institutions to build a hardware ecosystem, app ecosystem, and Huawei Research ecosystem in the fitness and health domain.

The Huawei WATCH 3 Series, a new flagship smartwatch that supports independent communication. The watch allows users to make phone calls and listen to music using the same phone number and data plan as your smartphone.

Featuring a curved glass screen and 316L stainless steel case, this stylish watch comes with a brand-new 3D rotating crown that senses different pressure levels and provides haptic feedback in response, making the watch comfortable to wear and easy to operate.

The WATCH 3 series supports more than 100 workout modes and comes with a broad range of healthcare monitoring functions for reference. It can now monitor skin temperature with a new high-precision temperature sensor.

ACCESSORIES

The HUAWEI M-Pencil offers a natural pencil-like writing experience with the new platinum-coated pen nib.

The new Smart Magnetic Keyboard features a full-size design, a comfortable typing experience with a 1.3 mm key travel. It also inherits the advantages of its previous generation, including the magnetic cover, wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity to ensure that it's ready to use instantly.

With the M-Pencil, and the new Smart Magnetic Keyboard together with Bluetooth wireless mouse, the MatePad series will give consumers PC-like productivity and creativity using experience.

Huawei also announced, at the launch, that it would continue to develop both retail and online strategies, including Huawei Experience Stores and ecommerce channels to bring consumers a better and more convenient shopping experience.

Currently, there are 110 Huawei experience stores in Malaysia, and a total of 400 Huawei experience stores are located in the most popular shopping centres in various regions, which are ready to serve the consumers.

In the stores, consumers can experience the latest Huawei devices. The company also hopes to provide consumers with a convenient and direct shopping experience and enable them to experience seamless AI Life.

Huawei uses distributed technology to deliver a wireless entertainment experience across all scenarios that supports low-latency audio-to-video synchronisation and multi-device collaboration, including dual device connectivity for headphones, seamless audio switching between devices and Huawei CAST+ screen mirroring. All of this is possible with Huawei devices such as wireless headphones, smart speakers, Huawei Vision, smartphones, PCs, and tablets.
