KUALA LUMPUR: Alibaba Group has announced an empowerment programme to support local digitalisation and accelerate ecosystem innovation amid the post pandemic era. The announcement was shared by Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Malaysia general manager Kun Huang during the Alibaba Cloud Internet Day 2022 which was held here.

"We will continue to invest in the Malaysia market to empower the industry digital transformation. Here, I would like to take this opportunity to announce a thrilling new programme, Alibaba Cloud Digital Empowerment Programme, where we will increase resources into programmes including cloud credit empowerment, training workshops and dedicated tech service to support enterprise's cloud journey and boost the digitalisation potential amid the post pandemic era," said Kun during his keynote address.

The first on-ground event since the pandemic strike, the half-day technology conference was lined-up with sharing sessions by Alibaba's experts shedding light on the latest trends in the internet-related industry.

"Covid-19 has profoundly altered the way we live and work, and the way we consume. To grow and thrive in a post-Covid world, it is vital for the local businesses in Malaysia to adopt swift digital transformation into a pandemic-proof business model via technology. The conference also functions as a place to connect businesses to the innovators and leaders from different sectors," he said.

Several speakers who are emerging players from different sectors including healthcare, entertainment and security have shared experiences on how Alibaba Cloud has supported their business for the next wave of innovation in the digital ecosystem.

"Alibaba Cloud provides TELEME with best in class security, scalability, and reliability, combined with information that is stored locally in Malaysia and in compliance with the local laws," said its director and chief medical officer Dr Hoh Hon Bing who presented the telehealth service app that bridges a digital ecosystem between health practitioners, patients and pharmacies.

The app leveraged Alibaba Cloud's ECS, ApsaraDB and OSS that help to hold the critical value of elastic computing in the form of a scalable cloud platform to meet rapidly shifting TELEME business needs.
