KUALA LUMPUR: Another Meta-owned platform is currently experiencing issues — this time, not accessibility but users all over the world sharing their account is suspended, while others said they are losing followers.
Upon checks done on Downdetector, a platform for online service status information based on real-time status, the online photo-sharing and social networking service is experiencing login issues on its app.
One user, Natalie Curie said she is losing followers and is experiencing login issues too.
"Instagram is having a huge issue this morning. I lost about 200 followers and then it told me my account was suspended. It wouldn't send me the verification text. I logged out of the account, and now it won't let me log in and it won't find my username. It acts like the account doesn't exist."
On its official Twitter account, Instagram shared a status acknowledging accessibility issues and is currently looking into the matter with hashtag #instagramdown.
"We're aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We're looking into it and apologise for the inconvenience. #instagramdown"
It is not known if the issue is affecting all users or if it is a global issue. Some users only experience auto-shutting on the app, while others complain of losing access all together.
