NATIONAL Tech Association of Malaysia (Pikom) has officially launched the highly anticipated Pikom Digital Excellence Awards (PDEA 2024) today.
The award focuses on technology industry players, allowing them to showcase their excellence by nominating themselves or their organisations in one or more of the 13 corporate award categories and 4 individual award categories.
According to Pikom, this gala event celebrates the best in Malaysia's tech industry and promises to set new benchmarks in recognising innovation within its community.
The main event will be held at Sunway Resort Hotel on Sept 5, 2024.
Pikom chairman, Ong Chin Seong, urged the tech industry to join the event as the PDEA offers an array of benefits to participants where winners will gain industry-wide recognition, and distinguish their achievements among peers.
"This award serves as a powerful platform for showcasing expertise and innovations to a broader audience, including industry leaders and potential investors.
"Receiving this prestigious award elevates brand awareness and media exposure, contributing to a stronger market presence.
"It provides an excellent networking opportunity, opening doors to new collaborations and partnerships," he said in his briefing to the media at the PDEA launch.
He said that this year's event holds greater significance due to Pikom's efforts in inviting esteemed judges from various industry associations.
"We've established a rigorous process for judging the winners, ensuring high integrity. In fact, it is the most valuable in the industry, showcasing the excellence of both companies and individuals," said Ong.
The corporate awards span various categories, including cybersecurity, IT services, retail, e-commerce, digital infrastructure, cloud service provider, global champions, tech ecosystem enabler, tech investor, global business services (GBS), tech training, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and IT users.
Meanwhile, for the individual awards categories, it includes exceptional Tech Luminaries, Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Women Tech Leaders, and Tech Entrepreneurs.
The nomination fees for this year PDEA are RM 2,500 for corporate categories for Pikom members and RM 3,000 for non-members. There is no charge for nominations in the individual award categories.
Pikom has been at the forefront of recognising and celebrating the outstanding contributions of individuals, organisations, and products to the advancement of the local tech industry through the prestigious Pikom Unicorn Tech Awards since its inception in 1989.
"We want our award winners to feel proud and to let the industry and the public know that there are outstanding companies in our field.
"This serves as an inspiration to their companies and to them individually, motivating them to achieve even greater success in the years to come," said Ong.
Those interested in submitting nominations can do so at www.pikom.org.my from now until July 15, 2024 to be part of this prestigious event.
