CARTIER continues its creative tribute to the three interlinked and timeless rings this season. The simple, pure design of the jewellery icon inspires new shapes, volumes, patterns and ways of wearing.
The origin of Trinity is a ring, a cult design imagined by Louis Cartier in 1924. The creative exploration of Trinity has continued since then.
This time, animal motifs have been incorporated into the design. The panther, tiger and snake, three animals emblematic of Cartier's fauna, enter the Trinity design.
Their motifs can be seen on each of the ring's bands: reptile scales for the white gold, and panther spots or tiger stripes in black lacquer for the yellow and rose gold. This subtle exercise in style also extends to the shapes of each band, which are all different: rippled for the snake, pyramidal for the tiger and rounded for the panther.
These wild, multi-faceted versions of Trinity playfully introduce new ways to wear it, with a two-finger ring and a single earring. All the black lacquer motifs are applied by hand, and the all-paved versions use a special technique that consists of edging the rose gold and yellow gold rings with a "thousand lines" finish, in a series of small hand-chiselled cuts.
