Stacy: I'm not in AF Megastar because I'm busy with work, motherhood

SINGER Stacy Angie Anam may not be in Akademi Fantasia (AF)’s reunion show, AF Megastar, which premiered last Sunday, but the reality show’s Season 6 winner has “strong reasons” for not participating.

“It’s not that I’m against any reunion — I would have loved to catch up with friends from the show — but I’ve been promoting my single Cakap Ke Tangan.

“Furthermore, I’ve just become a mum and I need to spend more time with my little one, Eshaal,” she said recently.

Stacy, 27, gave birth to her daughter, Eshaal Hakim on Feb 17 and is taking a break from performances.

She married fellow AF graduate Akim Ahmad, who is also the show’s Season 7 second runner-up, last year.

“Since I’ve won a season of the show, it’s time to let others to win it. Not participating doesn’t mean I don’t support the show. In fact, I’m delighted that Astro has come out with an all-stars season of AF.”

She said she might attend weekly concerts and make guest appearances on AF Megastar.

“Though I’m not in the race this time, I will follow its concerts.”

Stacy, from Sabah, who became the second female contestant to win after Mila, has served as a guest judge on the show.

AF Megastar is aired live on Astro Ria every Sunday at 8.30pm for eight weeks. By Dennis Chua
