#SHOWBIZ: I'm not engaged to Aliff says Ruhainies

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas, 31, has slammed certain individuals for spreading "nonsense" about her and Singaporean singer-actor Aliff Aziz.

Ruhainies said in a Harian Metro report yesterday that the "invitation card" which recently went viral on social media and purpotedly revealed that she and Aliff were getting engaged was false.

"To all those who spread lies about me and Aliff, may you get your just rewards someday. And to all netizens, do not easily fall prey to rumours and fake news on social media," said Ruhainies in an Instagram Story message yesterday.

Ruhainies urged her fans to notify her if they identified the culprit behind the "invitation".

"I may be the victim today, but many others might fall prey to such slander later."

The "invitation card" purpotedly announced that Ruhainies and Aliff would be getting engaged on Saturday.

The duo were nabbed for khalwat by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) at her condominium on March 9.

The Syariah High Court has set July 3 for mention of their khalwat case.
