KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actor Shaheizy Sam said that he only received a bankruptcy notice that bore his name.
"I am not a bankrupt, it was just a notice from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB)," he said, referring to the notice which was published in a newspaper last month.
The actor said he is still in the dark as to why the IRB would issue the notice.
Currently, the 35-year-old Interchange actor said that the he is still in the midst of discussion with the officers from IRB regarding the issue.
"I can’t comment any further because nothing has been finalised yet, but once all is settled, I will inform everyone,” said Shaheizy when met at the launch of the soundtrack for his upcoming film, titled Pinjamkan Hatiku, at Redbox The Gardens, here yesterday.
"I don’t want to point fingers at anyone. As for me, I realise that I may have made some mistakes and I have to own up to them," said the artiste who is married to fellow actress Syatilla Melvin, 26.
Asked how the issue had affected him, Shaheizy said: “It’s honestly a blessing in disguise because I’ve learned a lot through this experience."
