SIX years may be a long wait, but Datuk Fazley Yaakob believes blessings come to those who are patient.
Fazley, 39, and his wife, Datin Azrene Ahmad, 38, are overjoyed with the arrival of their first daughter, who was born at Kuala Lumpur Hospital at 4pm on Thursday.
The celebrity chef, singer and motivational speaker shared their moment of elation with fans on his Instagram account on the same day.
“Thank God, the prayers of my wife, Azrene, and I have finally been answered. We are very happy to finally greet the arrival of our first princess,” he said in his post.
“We have not named her yet, but we will real soon.
“We want to thank our fans and friends for their love, support and prayers.
“My wife is well, and we will keep you guys updated!”
Fazley is in Chennai, India, to film a cooking show titled Ketuhar Antarabangsa.
He has been in the southern Indian city since last Sunday and will return home on Oct 15.
“We are finally shooting this 13-episode series after three postponements earlier this year due to unforeseen circumstances.
“It features 13 famous chefs, who share their culinary expertise and latest dishes.”
Fazley is the host and director of Ketuhar Antarabangsa. There is also a special segment where he dishes out cooking tips.
“We had a special audience yesterday, Malaysian dental students studying at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital in Chennai, and they love the show,” he said.
Fazley and Azrene tied the knot on Nov 7, 2006, and have three sons, Ahmad Fariedz Shah, 9, Ahmad Fieradz Shah, 8, and Ahmad Firudz Shah, 6.
Fazley revealed that he had been offered a guest-starring role in a Tamil drama, which was being filmed in Chennai and Mauritius. It is a joint Malaysian-Indian production.
